Cherhill White Horse

Cherhill White Horse is one of eight in Wilthshire and is a particular favourite of ours and we have spent many a happy hour there. It is situated off the A4 on route to Marlborough, just below Oldbury Castle. We park nearby and then take a leisurely walk up to the White Horse where on a good day we can see for miles.

Looking down from the White Horse onto the A4 it is easy to think of the 'mad doctor', Dr. Christopher Alsop of Calne, shouting directions to the hard working folk of the day through a megaphone.
